Interested in being a part of the Children’s Ministry? Here’s what you need to know…
When do I show up?
Most Kairos Kids teachers like to get set up 15 minutes before the service starts.
Kairos Kids and Nursery start as soon as the sermon starts at approx. 10:45am.
How long do I need to stay after the service?
Approximately 15 minutes.
What will I be doing?
KK: Leading or helping teach the weekly lesson.
Nursery: Hanging with cute little people ages 1-3!
Am I doing anything during the service?
Yes, this is when you will be interacting with the children.
How often will I be scheduled?
Kairos Kids: The schedule is divided into 3 week sessions. Depending on your availability, you will cover a few sessions per school year.
Nursery: Generally, once every 4 – 5 weeks (schedule permitting).
How will I know what to do?
You will be put with an experienced volunteer who will show you the ropes! For Kairos Kids, an easy to follow lesson plan is provided.
Who do I speak to if I have a question or concern?
Your Children’s Ministry Lead or, during the service, the Service Coordinator (there is always one on duty).
Something has come up and I can’t make my scheduled shift, what happens now?
Please refer to the volunteer list that has been provided to each team and make every effort to find a replacement. Remember, if you don’t show, your team will be shorthanded.
Do I need to do a criminal record check?
Yes, anyone working with children is required to have this done. We will provide you with a letter to take to your local Police station and they will do it for free.
We would love to see if this area would be a good fit for you!
